Hanoi (VNA) - The 51st session of the National Assembly (NA) Standing
Committee will take place in Hanoi on December 9-11, according to the NA Office.
NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan will deliver an opening speech and chair the
session in rotation together with the Vice Chairpersons.
As scheduled, the committee will give opinions on the draft revised Law on Drug
Prevention and Control, as well as consider and approve the draft Ordinance on Preferential Treatment for People with Meritorious Services to the Revolution (amended).
It will also consider and decide on the arrangement of district- and communal-level
administrative units in the 2019-2021 period and the establishment of Thu Duc city
in Ho Chi Minh City.
Besides, the committee will also decide on the establishment of Phu Quoc city of
Kien Giang province and its wards; Tan Binh township in Bac Tan Uyen district,
Binh Duong province; wards of Thanh Hoa city, Thanh Hoa province; Vinh Thach
Trung township in Chau Phu district, Co To township in Tri Ton district, and
Vinh Binh township in Chau Thanh district, An Giang province.
It will give comments on the summarisation of the 10th session of the 14th
National Assembly and the preparation for the 11th session; as well as
preparations for the election of deputies to the 15th legislature and the
People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 tenure./.
