Hanoi (VNA) – Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) Vuong Dinh Hue on October 14 offered congratulations to Chairman Vyacheslav Viktorovich Volodin and members of the State Duma of Russia on the success of the elections of the 8th State Duma (September 17 - 19).

He noted with satisfaction that the Vietnam - Russia comprehensive strategic partnership and the cooperation between the Vietnamese NA and the Russian State Duma have made great strides, especially the two legislative bodies’ agreement to establish an inter-parliamentary cooperation committee on December 24, 2018.

Chairman Hue expressed his belief that he will continue receiving close cooperation from the State Duma leader to further enhance the sound cooperative ties between the two sides, thereby significantly contributing to the strong, extensive, and effective Vietnam - Russia ties.

He also invited the Russian Duma Chairman to visit and attend the second meeting of the inter-parliamentary cooperation committee in Vietnam when possible.

The Vietnamese legislator hoped to have online talks with the State Duma Chairman to discuss the countries’ relations and the legislative bodies’ cooperation.

The same day, Chairman Hue sent letters of congratulations to Moroccan Speaker of the House of Advisors Naam Miyara and Speaker of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi Alami on their elections to the posts.

In his letters, he expressed his delight that the Vietnam - Morocco friendship and multifaceted cooperation, including relations between their legislative bodies, have been growing vigorously, and that leaders and peoples of both countries have always paid attention to developing their sound traditional ties.

On the basis of the cooperation deal signed between the Vietnamese NA and the Moroccan House of Representatives in December 2017, the top legislator voiced his hope for continued coordination with Speaker Rachid Talbi Alami to promote the substantive and practical implementation of bilateral cooperation activities.

Given the achievements during the 60 years of Vietnam - Morocco relations, Hue said he wishes to join the two speakers in continuing to foster the friendship and multifaceted cooperation between two countries, as well as between the legislative bodies, for the sake of the two peoples and for regional and international peace, stability, and development./.
